2024 SDEA/NEA Election

January 15, 2024 is the last day to notify Loren Paul, SDEA/NEA President of your intent to run in the upcoming election.

In the 2024 SDEA/NEA Election, there are 12 board seats positions open to serve as a SDEA Board of Director and 13 seats open to serve as a 2024 NEA Representative Assembly Delegate.

January 15, 2024 is the last day to notify Loren Paul, SDEA/NEA President of your intent to run for SDEA Board of Director position, At-Large Board of Director position, or as a state-funded delegate to the NEA Representative Assembly (NEA RA).

SDEA Board of Director positions to be elected:

  • COHE At-Large
    • (One 1-year term)
  • ESP At-Large
    • (One 1-year term)
  • Western
    • (One 2-year term)
    • Two 1-year term
  • Plains
    • One 2-year term
  • EGL
    • One 2-year term
  • Eastern Prairie
    • Two 2-year term
  • SEE 
    • One 2-year term
    • One 1-year term

Note: Please include 50-word statement* of why you are running for the Board of Directors positions. In addition to a statement, please submit a photo.

* Please include 150-word statement* of why you are running for the President, Vice-President and NEA Director position.

NEA RA Delegate Election:

Members who wish to serve as a delegate to the 2024 NEA RA must indicate whether they want to be on the ballot as a state delegate and/or as a unit delegate. The NEA annual meeting will be held July 3–July 7 in Philadelphia, PA. Candidate declarations are due January 15, 2024.

There are 13 seats open for the 2024 NEA RA Delegate election:
All positions are fully funded by SDEA.
