Resilience Screening and Discussion

Toxic stress can trigger hormones that wreak havoc on the brains and bodies of children, putting them at a greater risk for disease, homelessness, prison time, and early death. No segment of society is immune. In this session we screen and then discuss Resilience, a documentary about toxic stress, and the dawn of a movement that is determined to fight back.

At a Glance

Researchers have recently discovered a dangerous biological syndrome caused by abuse and neglect during childhood. Watch Resilience, a documentary on the impact toxic stress has on the brains and bodies of children; and the dawn of a movement that is determined to fight back. Facilitators lead a debrief and discussion after the movie to allow participants to synthesize what they have seen into practical applications in their own setting.
