Summer Symposium

Don't miss this professional growth opportunity for area educators June 2-5!

The Sioux Falls School District, Sioux Falls Education Association and Education Service Agency, Region 2 are again hosting a professional growth opportunity for area educators. The conference features national, state and local presenters who will share their research and expertise.

The Educators Summer Symposium will be held June 2-5, 2008 at Washington High School in Sioux Falls and will feature speakers such as Dr. Russell Barkley, Harvey "Smokey" Daniels, Michael Dorn, Dr. J David Cooper, Dr. Vicki Gibson as well as many regional and local presenters. Topics include differentiation, ADHD, diversity, literacy across the content areas, SD Math Counts, technology, coaching, school leadership, fine arts and more! There are over 170 sessions to choose from!

Participants may register for two days ($75) or all four days ($125).  Lunch is included.

Graduate credit will be offered through the University of Sioux Falls and the University of South Dakota at the reduced tuition rate of $40 per credit hour. One graduate credit can be obtained for participation during two days of the conference, and two graduate level credits can be obtained for participation during all four days of the conference.


**Obtaining graduate level credit will require participants to write a one-page reflection on how they will incorporate what they learned at
the conference into their teaching/job.

Continuing education units will also be offered to interested participants.
