Why SDEA-SP? |
As future teachers, the student program of the South Dakota Education Association, along with the National Education Association student program, has much more to offer than just classroom insurance. The student program offers future teachers opportunities to prepare themselves for their profession. From professional development conferences, to leadership seminars, to networking opportunities, the SDEA-SP is your key to starting out your career right. Perhaps the most exciting element of the student program is the opportunity for involvement. Each campus has a local student program chapter that conducts its own campus and community service programs, professional development opportunities, and fund-raising activities. The local chapters are members of the state student program organization, which provides futher outreach and professional programming. Above all state programs is the national program. At each level, students are involved as committee members, organizers, chairpeople, and officers, and the connections and advancement opportunities between levels is unlimited. Now ask yourself, "Why shouldn't I be a member of the SDEA student program?" If you want to be the best teacher you can be, get involved on your campus, make future job connections, meet new friends, build your resume, get involved in education, or make a difference on your campus and in your community, state, and nation, then you can't refuse. Your key to becoming the teacher you've always dreamed of (including the pay!) is right here -- SDEA and NEA Student Program . . . "Today's students, tomorrow's teachers!"
